Utilization Management (UM) Policy Statement At NXT IPA, our Utilization Management (UM) decisions are based solely on the appropriateness of care, the necessity of services, and the existence of coverage.

We uphold the following principles:

Impartial Decision-Making: NXT IPA does not reward practitioners or other personnel for issuing denials of coverage or care.
No Financial Incentives: We do not offer financial incentives to UM decision-makers that could promote the underutilization of services.
Independence in Referrals: Practitioners retain full independence and impartiality in referral decisions, free from any influence tied to hiring, compensation, termination, or promotion.

Members and providers have the right to request a copy of the criteria used in our decision-making process.
